An Actor is a role, person, external party, or organizational entity that participates in or benefits from the Value Stream. Actors in business architecture are: • The consumer or beneficiary of the value • Often the trigger or recipient of the Outcome • Sometimes responsible for initiating actions in the value stream • Stakeholders whose needs define what “value” means Examples: • Member (healthcare) • Provider • Customer • Claims adjuster • Patient advocate • Employee
